How to clear cache and/or data on Onn Device

🔹 Clear Cache or Data on Apps (onn. Google TV Box)
  1. Go to the Home Screen
    Press the Home button on your remote.

  2. Open Settings

    • Navigate to the top right corner.

    • Select your profile picture / account icon.

    • Choose Settings ⚙️.

  3. Go to Apps

    • Scroll down and select Apps.

    • Pick See all apps (if you don’t see the one you want right away).

  4. Choose the App

    • Scroll and select the app you want to clear.

    • Example: YouTube, Netflix, etc.

  5. Open Storage & Cache

    • Select Storage & cache.

    • You’ll see two options:

      • Clear cache (removes temporary files, usually safe).

      • Clear storage / Clear data (resets the app to factory default, logs you out, deletes settings).

  6. Confirm

    • Choose the option you want and confirm.

🔹 Which Should You Use?
  • Clear cache → Best first step if an app is slow, crashing, or not loading properly.

  • Clear data → Use only if clearing cache doesn’t fix the issue (this will sign you out and reset the app).


How to Force Stop an app.

🔹 Manage Apps on onn. Google TV Box 1. Open Settings
  • Press the Home button on your remote.

  • Go to the top right corner → select your profile icon → choose Settings ⚙️.

2. Find the App
  • Scroll to Apps.

  • Select See all apps.

  • Pick the app you want to manage.

3. App Options
  • Force Stop → Instantly shuts down the app (useful if it’s frozen or misbehaving).

  • Storage & Cache →

    • Clear cache → Removes temporary files.

    • Clear storage / Clear data → Resets the app to default (signs you out, deletes settings).

âś… Recommended order if an app is acting up:

  1. Force Stop

  2. Clear cache

  3. Clear data (only if the issue continues)
